Job Title: Legal Assistant – Property
Location: Otley
Salary: £27,000 – £29,000
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday
Are you an experienced Property Assistant or Legal Assistant with a background in residential conveyancing? Are you looking for an opportunity to join a busy and established property team where you can develop your experience across a range of residential property matters?
We are currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant – Property to join a busy conveyancing team based in Otley. This is a full-time, transactional role suited to someone with previous experience supporting residential property matters and who is confident working across different stages of the conveyancing process.
Working closely with the solicitor responsible for each matter, you will be delegated specific tasks across residential property transactions.
Key Responsibilities As Legal Assistant – Property
- Provide administrative and transactional support across a busy residential conveyancing team
- Assist with the opening and setting up of new property files
- Carry out property searches and assist with associated conveyancing requirements
- Undertake relevant HM Land Registry tasks and maintain accurate records
- Support solicitors with pre-completion and post-completion processes
- Complete delegated tasks across residential property matters accurately and within required timescales
- Maintain and update case management systems and ensure information is recorded accurately
- Communicate effectively with solicitors, colleagues and relevant parties throughout the conveyancing process

What We’re Looking For As Legal Assistant – Property
- Previous experience working within a residential conveyancing or property environment
- Experience as a Property Assistant, Legal Assistant, Conveyancing Assistant or similar role
- Good understanding of the residential property transaction process
- Previous experience assisting with property searches, HM Land Registry and pre- and post-completion matters
- Strong IT skills and previous experience using legal case management systems
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage delegated tasks and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills and a professional approach when working with colleagues and clients
- Ability to work effectively as part of a busy conveyancing team
