Legal Assistant
Location: London
Salary: £55,000–£65,000 DOE
Working Pattern: Office-based
We have partnered with a growing organisation to recruit a Legal Assistant to support its Chief Legal Officer and wider business.
This is a broad in-house role covering legal administration, contract coordination, corporate governance, and wider corporate services. It would suit someone with experience supporting a legal function who is comfortable taking ownership of legal records, governance processes, and day-to-day coordination across multiple areas of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain legal matter trackers, document registers, and central filing systems.
- Draft, format, proofread, and amend contracts, board papers, resolutions, minutes, and legal correspondence.
- Coordinate contract review, approval, execution, and e-signature processes.
- Maintain contract registers and track key dates including renewals, termination rights, and commercial milestones.
- Ensure executed agreements, legal records, and supporting documentation are accurately stored and easily accessible.
- Support board, committee, and shareholder meeting administration, including agendas, board packs, minutes, and resolutions.
- Maintain corporate registers, governance calendars, and supporting company secretarial documentation.
- Assist with routine corporate filings and coordinate with external company secretarial providers and legal advisers.
- Support the administration of data protection, compliance, and policy documentation.
- Coordinate information and documentation required for due diligence, audit, regulatory, and assurance requests.
- Maintain legal templates, guidance documents, governance records, and evidence repositories.
- Support invoice administration, supplier documentation, and payment approval processes where required.
- Act as a central point of coordination between Legal, Finance, Operations, HR, external counsel, and other third parties.

Experience Required:

- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, Legal PA, Company Secretarial Assistant, Legal Operations Coordinator, or similar.
- Experience supporting an in-house legal team, law firm, professional services organisation, financial services business, or other regulated environment.
- Strong experience managing legal documents, records, trackers, and filing systems.
- Experience supporting commercial contracts and coordinating approval or execution processes.
- Exposure to corporate governance, board administration, or company secretarial work.
- Experience using e-signature platforms, document management systems, or workflow tools.
- Exposure to compliance, data protection, due diligence, or finance administration would be beneficial.
