About the Role
Our client is a regulated Law firm, based in Leeds and the business operates within a hybrid structure of 2 days in the office.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join their growing team. This is a varied and pivotal role, providing vital support to dozens of consultant solicitors.
You won't be pigeonholed into one specific area of law. Instead, you’ll be the 'go-to' resource for a wide range of legal and administrative tasks, primarily focusing on onboarding new clients, compliance, and ongoing matter administration.
This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys a varied workload and has the independence to manage their own tasks without the micromanagement of a traditional law firm.
Key Responsibilities
-
Client Onboarding & Compliance:
- Take the lead on client onboarding, performing essential compliance checks (AML, KYC, Source of Funds).
- Ensure all new files are opened accurately and efficiently in their system.
-
Varied Administrative Support:
- Handle requests from consultants, which will be variable and span different areas of law including Commercial Property and Private Client (Wills, Probate, LPAs). You won't be expected to be an expert in everything, but a keen eye for detail and form-filling is essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
