The role…

We’re looking for a proactive and commercially minded Legal Assistant to support the General Counsel in the day-to-day management of legal and compliance matters across LW Theatres and its group companies.

You’ll provide practical, commercially focused legal support across the business, including contract drafting and negotiation, legal research, data protection compliance, policy development, customer claims and commercial disputes. You’ll also manage legal records and routine contract matters, prepare contract summaries, adapt appropriate precedents and participate in relevant internal meetings and projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is highly organised and detail-focused to develop their legal career within a fast-paced, creative environment.

What you’ll be doing…

Commercial Contract Support

  • Maintain accurate supplier contract records and organised electronic legal files.
  • Prepare non-disclosure agreements and coordinate their approval and execution.
  • Prepare and negotiate filming agreements and photography clearance agreements.
  • Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts, including supplier, services, commercial partnership and ticketing agreements, using approved templates and escalating material legal and commercial risks to the General Counsel.
  • Draft agreements for the Programming team using approved templates where appropriate.
  • Draft and negotiate data processing agreements, data-sharing agreements and other privacy-related contractual provisions.
  • Manage routine contract matters from initial instruction to execution, including obtaining information, coordinating internal review and approvals, communicating with counterparties, confirming authorised signatories, issuing documents for electronic signature and retaining executed copies in the appropriate records.
  • Prepare concise deal sheets and contract summaries for relevant contract owners and respond to contract queries.

Business Support

  • Support Theatre Managers and the Customer Relations team with customer issues, including reviewing and drafting response letters and emails.
  • Respond to routine legal queries from the Senior Leadership Team and Head Office colleagues, escalating matters to the General Counsel where appropriate.
  • Support the Ticketing team, including drafting and negotiating ticketing services agreements, supporting new client onboarding and attending regular legal and commercial review meetings.
  • Advise on routine data protection and privacy matters arising from marketing, ticketing and operational activities, including consent wording, booking flows and the implementation of agreed compliance measures.
  • Research legal and regulatory developments relevant to the business and provide concise, practical summaries.
  • Support the General Counsel and Chief Information Security Officer with data protection compliance, including subject access requests, data protection impact assessments, records of processing activities, data-cleansing exercises and erasure requests.
  • Support cross-functional projects to implement new legal and regulatory requirements, including attending working group meetings, tracking actions and assisting with policies, procedures, guidance and training.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for routine legal matters when the General Counsel is unavailable, referring urgent, material or complex matters as appropriate.
  • Maintain the trade mark portfolio and liaise with external trade mark advisers.
  • Review and update company policies to reflect legal, regulatory and operational developments.
  • Visit the theatres and attend Theatre Managers’ meetings where appropriate.
  • Prepare and deliver training on relevant legal and compliance topics.
  • Assist with customer claims, commercial disputes, including investigating the facts, reviewing relevant documents, preparing correspondence and court documents, liaising with internal stakeholders and monitoring deadlines, under supervision of the General Counsel.
  • Allocate and review appropriate work undertaken by interns or work-experience students and provide clear instructions and constructive feedback.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
