About Non-Billable:
Non-Billable is a fast-growing media company covering the business of law.
We report on the people, deals and strategic moves shaping the world's top law firms, from major partner hires and law firm expansion to legal tech, external capital and the changing economics of the industry.
Our aim is to become the go-to publication for ambitious lawyers and others working at the top end of the legal market, combining original reporting with sharp, accessible analysis.
The Role:
We're looking for a reporter to join our growing editorial team. This is an opportunity to develop a beat covering one of the most dynamic areas of professional services.
You'll cover a broad range of stories across the business of law, producing everything from fast-moving news and interviews to analysis and more in-depth features.
You'll be expected to spot interesting stories, speak to people across the industry and increasingly develop your own areas of expertise and sources.
We're looking for someone who is curious, ambitious and comfortable taking ownership of stories. You don't need to be a legal industry expert already, but you should have strong reporting instincts and an interest in understanding how businesses and markets work.

As part of a small and ambitious team, you'll have plenty of responsibility and the opportunity to help shape our coverage as Non-Billable grows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report and write news, interviews, analysis and features covering the business of law
- Identify and pitch interesting and timely stories for our audience
- Interview lawyers, business leaders, founders and other figures across the industry
- Follow major developments across law firms, deals, legal tech and the wider legal market
- Develop your own areas of expertise and build relationships across the industry
- Contribute to original reporting and longer-term editorial projects
- Help develop our coverage across new formats, including podcast and video
- Work closely with the editor on the daily news agenda and broader editorial priorities

Requirements:
- At least two years' professional experience as a reporter or writer at a business, legal or financial publication
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to produce clear, engaging copy
- Strong news judgment and an instinct for what makes an interesting story
- Curiosity about business, finance and the forces shaping different industries
- Confidence interviewing people and asking good questions
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple stories and deadlines
- Based in the UK, with the ability to easily travel to London for occasional meetings, interviews and events
