About the Company

Our client, an established legal services organisation, is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join its finance team on a fully remote, part-time basis.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head Cashier, the successful candidate will work alongside an experienced cashiering team within a wider finance function covering accounting, systems, billing and revenue control. The role will support the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, maintenance of financial records and delivery of day-to-day cashiering activities. A key focus will be compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and wider regulatory requirements, including monitoring transactions, identifying potential breaches and escalating concerns appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Post counsel fee notes, expert invoices and client disbursement invoices to the appropriate matters, including foreign currency transactions.
  • Record internal disbursements, such as file-opening, printing and postage charges.
  • Calculate and post client interest where required.
  • Investigate office account credit balances and support their timely resolution.
  • Conduct sanctions checks on individuals and organisations making payments into office and client accounts.
  • Post direct debit transactions from bank accounts to the finance system.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organised records, ensuring invoices, paperwork and correspondence are filed promptly.
  • Identify and report potential breaches of the Solicitors Accounts Rules to the Accounts Manager for inclusion in regulatory reporting.
  • Support general office and client account cashiering during periods of increased workload or team absence.
  • Prepare electronic payments, including BACS, CHAPS and international payments, and monitor transactional bank accounts.
  • Liaise proactively with fee earners regarding incoming funds and ensure unallocated receipts are addressed promptly.
  • Review and process client-to-client, client-to-office and inter-matter transfers.
  • Identify incoming faster payments, BACS and CHAPS receipts relating to costs, prepare the required documentation and allocate office account receipts against outstanding bills.
  • Manage competing priorities independently and meet agreed deadlines within a fast-paced, compliance-focused environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
