Legal Cashier
Salary: £32,000–£34,000 per annum, depending on experience
We are looking for an experienced and organised Legal Cashier to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of legal accounts procedures and previous experience working within a solicitors' practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal cashier to become an integral part of a well-established law firm.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the firm's accounts function, ensuring that all financial transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with relevant regulations and procedures.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing client and office account transactions.
- Maintaining accurate client and office ledgers.
- Carrying out bank reconciliations and regular account reconciliations.
- Processing payments, transfers and receipts.
- Dealing with client account queries and liaising with fee earners where required.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring accounts are kept up to date.
- Assisting with the preparation for the firm's annual audit.
- Ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
- General accounts administration and bookkeeping duties.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working within a solicitors' office, ideally in a legal cashier/accounts role.
- Good working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
- Experience of double-entry bookkeeping.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work independently whilst also being part of a wider team.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach.
- AAT Level 3 qualification is preferred, although relevant experience will also be considered.
