Experienced Legal Cashier - Office Based in LE1

As part of an existing team, we have an opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier to join us on a 100% office-based role in LE1.

Key Skills Required

  • Proficiency with Legal Accounting Software:

    • Essential for managing and processing financial transactions within a legal context.
    • Streamlines tasks such as billing, tracking client funds, and maintaining financial records.
  • Knowledge of Annual Audit and Inspection Processes:

    • Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
    • Includes preparing documents, reconciling accounts, and liaising with auditors.
  • Understanding of Industry Accounting Rules and Regulations:

    • Familiarity with specific accounting principles and regulations governing the legal sector.
    • Includes the Solicitors' Accounts Rules (SARs) in the UK.
  • Understanding of Basic Banking Processes:

    • Foundational knowledge of banking operations such as deposits, withdrawals, and electronic fund transfers.

  • Proficiency with Double-Entry Bookkeeping:

    • Fundamental accounting principle for recording each transaction in two accounts.

    • Differentiates between client and office accounts.
    • Ensures client funds are kept separate from the firm's operational funds.
  • Ability to Complete VAT Returns:

    • Includes accurately calculating VAT on invoices and keeping thorough records.
