Legal Cashier - London - £45,000 - £55,000 + Benefits
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Cashier to join a well-established and highly regarded London law firm.
This role offers the chance to join a busy finance team in a pivotal position, supporting the firm's day-to-day financial operations and ensuring compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules. The successful candidate will benefit from a supportive working environment, high-quality systems and excellent long-term career prospects.
The successful Legal Cashier will be responsible for managing a broad range of legal accounting duties including client and office account transactions, reconciliations, billing support and financial administration. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal accounts professional seeking a varied and rewarding role within a respected firm.
The Role
- Processing client and office account receipts, payments and transfers
- Managing electronic payments including BACS and CHAPS transactions
- Completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate client ledger balances and financial records
- Supporting billing, invoicing and credit control processes
- Assisting with month-end and year-end accounting procedures
- Ensuring compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules and internal procedures
- Dealing with finance-related queries from fee earners, clients and third parties
- Supporting audits and regulatory requirements as required
- Contributing to the efficient operation of the firm's finance function

The Candidate
- Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm
- Strong knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules
- Experience handling client and office account transactions
- Confident completing bank and client account reconciliations
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience using legal accounts software and Microsoft Office
- Professional, reliable and team-oriented approach
