Legal Cashier Role at Enoch Evans

We’re looking for an experienced and highly organised Legal Cashier to join our Finance Team at Enoch Evans. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is confident working within a busy legal environment, has strong attention to detail and is looking to further develop their career within legal finance. You will be fully office based at our Walsall Office; this is a full-time role with working hours of Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with one hour for lunch.

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience of working in a similar role within a law firm, and have a good working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking receipts from clients either on-site or over the telephone and issuing receipts
  • Checking online banking for payments received and allocating to the client ledgers.
  • Preparing the daily banking and then taking it to the bank to pay in.
  • Posting items to ledgers – receipts and payments.
  • Weekly new matter reports to the Head of Departments with details of new matters opened for the previous week.
  • Preparing Priority and BACS payments on online banking. Obtaining email approval from the Partners before final authorisation by Finance Manager or another authorised person.
  • Processing cheque requests through case management system before printing the cheques and obtaining the required signatures from the Partners.
  • Prepare breakdowns of time and client ledgers in a format that can be sent out to the Clients.
  • Checking completion statements.
  • Checking and processing clients invoices through the case management system.
  • Checking and processing purchase ledger invoices and prepare the payment run.
  • General covering of other team members duties in the event of absence
  • Any other tasks specified by the Finance Manager.
