Join Our Care Team
Ridley & Hall Solicitors is seeking a motivated and organised Legal Clerk to join our Care Department on a fixed term contract from September to December 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain hands-on experience within a specialist legal team. The role will involve supporting solicitors and barristers in contested court proceedings, providing practical and administrative assistance, and ensuring clients receive exceptional support throughout their legal journey.
About The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to provide support to solicitors within the Care Department, with a particular focus on clerking contested court hearings alongside a barrister.
This position offers valuable exposure to court proceedings and legal practice, making it ideal for graduates interested in developing a career within the legal sector.
Key Responsibilities
As a Legal Clerk, You Will
- Attend court hearings alongside a barrister.
- Take clear, accurate and comprehensive notes during hearings and related attendances.
- Support clients attending court.
- Liaise with the allocated fee earner and provide updates as required.
- Undertake reasonable tasks as directed by barristers or fee earners.
- Assist with drafting applications and legal documents.
- Liaise with third parties and professional organisations.
- Make practical arrangements for cases, including special measures and room bookings.
- Provide general administrative and office support to the Care Department.
- Maintain the highest standards of client care and professionalism.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of client and firm information.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and external organisations.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required.
