Let's Talk About The Role...
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in legal and compliance support within a professional services environment. Working closely with Partners, Directors and our compliance team, you'll manage engagement documentation, contracts, regulatory correspondence and ensure our firm stays compliant across all areas. You'll be the organised backbone of our legal and compliance function – someone who takes pride in accuracy, understands the regulatory landscape, and loves supporting a growing firm.
Based out of our Head Office in Stoke-on-Trent or our Manchester office, you'll:
- Prepare client engagement letters, terms of business and representation letters that set clear expectations and protect the firm
- Review, draft and maintain contracts, NDAs and standard form documents, keeping our contract management systems organised and up to date
- Support regulatory compliance across AML, ICAEW practice assurance and data protection, helping the team navigate complex requirements with confidence
- Conduct client due diligence and enhance due diligence processes on higher-risk clients, maintaining meticulous records and supporting our AML obligations
- Research regulatory topics, prepare guidance notes and policy summaries, and keep the team informed of changes to legislation and professional standards
- Manage compliance documentation, maintain registers (conflicts of interest, independence, AML records) and support practice assurance reviews
- Partner with Partners and Directors on risk and compliance matters, handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
