Legal & Compliance Officer

Coopman Search are partnering with a newly launched, FCA-authorised investment management firm, who are seeking a Legal & Compliance Officer to join their growing team on a part-time, fully remote basis, initially working two days per week.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business at an early stage of its development, playing a key role in supporting the firm's day-to-day compliance activities and broader commercial legal requirements. Working as part of a small, collaborative team, you will have exposure to a wide range of legal, regulatory and operational matters as the business continues to establish itself.

Working closely with the firm's Chief Operating Officer (COO) and external legal counsel, you will support the ongoing development of the compliance framework, manage commercial legal documentation and assist with transaction-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day administration of the firm's FCA regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Maintain compliance training records, personal account dealing declarations, gifts and entertainment registers and other compliance documentation.
  • Assist with compliance monitoring, internal reporting and the maintenance of policies and procedures.
  • Draft, review and negotiate routine commercial agreements, including vendor contracts and NDAs.
  • Support the drafting and review of employment contracts and related legal documentation.
  • Assist with transaction-related legal matters, working alongside external legal counsel.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external advisers on legal, regulatory and commercial matters.
  • Support the development and improvement of compliance processes and legal documentation as the business grows.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
