Job Description
The Legal Consultant will provide practical legal support across a range of business matters, with a particular focus on contract review, legal research, risk identification and the preparation of clear advice for internal teams.
The successful candidate will be comfortable analysing complex information, interpreting legal requirements and communicating recommendations to colleagues who may not have a legal background.
Key Responsibilities
- Review commercial agreements, contracts and other business documentation.
- Conduct legal research and assess the implications of relevant legislation and regulatory developments.
- Identify potential legal risks associated with business activities and proposed agreements.
- Prepare legal summaries, internal guidance and supporting documentation.
- Assist with the drafting and revision of contractual clauses and legal correspondence.
- Work with commercial, finance, HR and operational teams on legal matters.
- Support the organisation in maintaining appropriate contractual and regulatory documentation.
- Monitor relevant legal and regulatory changes and communicate material developments to internal stakeholders.
- Assist with the management of external legal advisers when required.
- Maintain accurate records of legal matters, agreements and related documentation.

Requirements

- Degree in Law or a closely related legal discipline.
- Previous experience in legal consulting, commercial law, in-house legal support or a comparable environment.
- Good understanding of contract principles and commercial agreements.
- Ability to conduct structured legal research and interpret legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Strong written skills, particularly when preparing legal documents and internal guidance.
- Ability to identify contractual and regulatory risks and communicate them clearly.
- Comfortable working with confidential and commercially sensitive information.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing agreements and legal documentation.
- Ability to manage several matters simultaneously and prioritise according to business requirements.
- Good understanding of business operations and commercial considerations is desirable.
- Experience working with corporate clients or internal business functions is considered an advantage.
- Excellent command of English.
