We are currently looking for lawyers with a minimum of 5 years' top-tier post-qualification experience in employment law.
Examples of recent opportunities
- Interim Head of Legal for a financial services organisation, with responsibilities including managing complex employment litigation, advising on employment policies and practices, people strategy, risk management, employment-related M&A, and ensuring compliance with employment law and regulations.
- Global Legal Director role for a digital banking organisation, advising the leadership team and Board on Employment, Incentives & Pensions matters across the business.
- Providing commercial advice within a global financial services organisation on a broad range of employee relations and employment law matters, such as investigations and the resolution of workplace disputes; restructuring or reorganisations; performance management; projects related to M&A activities; adapting to regulatory changes and ensuring compliance.
- Generalist employment role supporting the business advisory and litigation teams of a technology company on issues including absences, performance management, reorganisations and redundancies.
- Advising a media organisation on cross-border employment issues including hiring, disciplinary actions, reorganisations and global HR projects.
- Assisting the A&O Shearman employment practice on a key client's global HR project.

Our criteria
Successful applicants will:
- have a minimum of four years' post-qualification experience at a law firm ranked as top tier for employment law;
- preferably have in-house legal experience at a leading financial services institution or corporate (directly or as a secondee);
- have researched the personal and financial factors that you need to consider when commencing a career as a legal consultant and be comfortable with the ways in which it differs from permanent employment;
- have a consultant mindset, including a highly professional, flexible and adaptable outlook and approach; and
- have a practising certificate (or equivalent) which entitles them to practise as a lawyer in the UK.
