BALA Coordinator

Duration: 2 Months
Location: London, Hybrid

Business and Legal Affairs (BALA) Acquired Content Coordinator supports the Channel 5 Acquired Content teams and manages the end-to-end contracting and rights management process for all acquired content across Channel 5 services.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate input, update, and maintenance of contracts and rights data into Channel 5’s systems to reflect new information and to apply updates to existing information.
  • Act as a point of contact for all aspects of contracts and rights queries, such as exploitation rights and clearances.
  • Build and maintain relationships with all internal stakeholders.
  • Support on ad-hoc projects as they arise and coordinate such projects across the BALA team or Channel 5 as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Rights Management
  • Background in TV Acquisitions (preferred), although experience within Distribution or Commissioning will also be considered
  • Excellent attention to detail is essential
  • Strong and effective communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills and an ability to build successful working relationships at all levels is a must
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities; able to monitor own work to ensure it reaches successful completion; and plans ahead, anticipating potential problems.
  • Contracts and data management experience is preferred; ideally in a media and/or legal environment
  • Preferred (but not essential) experience with the WON rights management system.
