Job Description
We are looking for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our Legal team and provide pragmatic, solutions-focused legal support across a broad range of business, regulatory and compliance matters.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified lawyer who enjoys working closely with stakeholders, managing legal risk and contributing to the success of a high-performance organisation competing at the pinnacle of motorsport.
The Role
As Legal Counsel, you will partner with stakeholders across the business to provide high-quality legal advice and support. Working closely with the Head of Legal, you will assist on a wide variety of matters including commercial contracts, regulatory issues, corporate governance, compliance and general legal affairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across commercial, marketing, procurement, corporate, regulatory, compliance and data protection matters.
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
- Support legal and regulatory matters arising from participation in the FIA Formula One World Championship and other motorsport activities.
- Assist in the management of disputes, claims and other contentious matters.
- Support corporate governance activities, including maintenance of corporate records and enhancement of policies and procedures.
- Assist with compliance programmes, policies, procedures and training initiatives.
- Conduct legal research and prepare guidance notes, training materials and presentations for stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with external legal advisers and specialist consultants when required.
- Collaborate closely with the Alpine Racing Legal Department, Alpine Business Unit and Renault Group Legal teams.
- Continuously develop legal knowledge and professional expertise to support business needs.

About You
We are looking for a proactive and collaborative legal professional who can provide clear, practical advice in a fast-moving environment.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
- Commercial law and/or sports law background.
- Post-qualification experience gained in a recognised law firm and/or in-house legal team.
- Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Strong legal drafting skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Sound judgement and a practical, solution-oriented approach to legal issues.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
Desirable
- Experience of, or a strong interest in, sports regulation.
- Interest in motorsport, engineering or other high-performance sporting environments.
