Legal Counsel

London / Hybrid | £100,000 base salary

We are working with a fast-growing, PE-backed UK consumer services group looking to hire a Legal Counsel into its expanding legal function.

The business has grown rapidly through a combination of organic growth and acquisition and now has approximately 350–400 employees and revenues of around £60m. With further growth planned, this is an opportunity to join at an important stage as the organisation integrates acquired businesses, develops its infrastructure and continues to professionalise its legal function.

The Opportunity

This is a genuinely broad commercial legal role offering significantly more exposure than a traditional Legal Counsel position.

You will work closely with senior legal and compliance leadership and act as a key legal partner to stakeholders across the business. The role will sit between senior leadership and more junior members of the team, giving you both significant autonomy and the opportunity to help develop the wider legal function.

You will advise across:

  • Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts
  • Supplier, partnership and distribution agreements
  • Supporting commercial and operational teams on day-to-day legal matters
  • Business integration and transformation projects
  • Data protection, compliance and regulatory matters
  • Employment and people-related issues alongside the People team
  • Managing external counsel where specialist advice is required
  • Supporting strategic growth initiatives and future corporate activity
  • Improving legal processes, templates and ways of working across the group

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Confidence advising senior stakeholders independently

You could currently be working within another high-growth business or looking to move from a larger organisation into a position offering considerably more ownership and visibility.

Why This Role Stands Out

The attraction here is the breadth and trajectory of the opportunity.

You won't simply inherit a narrow portfolio of contracts. You will have exposure across the organisation, work closely with senior leadership and help shape how the legal function develops as the business continues to scale.

For someone ambitious, it offers the opportunity to:

  • Take genuine ownership rather than simply execute instructions
  • Work closely with senior decision-makers
  • Gain exposure to acquisitions, integration and transformation
  • Help improve and build a developing legal function
  • Broaden your experience beyond pure commercial contracting
  • Develop towards a more senior legal leadership position as the business grows
