Job Description

Join a team where your legal expertise can help shape the future of one of the UK's most important energy businesses. At EDF, Success is Personal. As a Legal Counsel within Nuclear Operations, you'll support major projects, manage legal risk, and help deliver outcomes that matter to our people, our communities and the future of low-carbon energy.

The Opportunity

As Legal Counsel, you'll play an important role in supporting the Nuclear Operations business by providing proactive, commercially focused legal advice across a diverse portfolio of work. From commercial contracts and regulatory matters to governance, compliance and dispute management, you'll help the business make informed decisions while managing legal risk effectively.

You’ll join us on a competitive salary. This role is based at Gloucester Business Park, with travel to other EDF UK locations as required by the business. Occasional travel within Europe may also be required.

Working closely with stakeholders across Nuclear Operations and the wider EDF Group, you'll contribute to complex and strategically significant matters that support our journey towards An Electric Britain. This is an opportunity to broaden your expertise, develop your legal career across a wide range of disciplines, and make a meaningful contribution to the future of the business.

Who You Are

We're looking for a Legal Counsel who combines strong legal knowledge with commercial awareness and a proactive approach to managing complex matters. You'll be organised, adaptable and comfortable working across multiple priorities while building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
