Legal Counsel
Are you a motivated legal professional looking to take the next step in your career with a fast-growing, technology-driven financial services business?
At True Potential, we're looking for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our Legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of legal and regulatory matters while supporting a dynamic business that continues to innovate and grow.
Working closely with senior lawyers, you'll develop your expertise across commercial, corporate and regulatory legal work, with increasing autonomy and ownership as your experience grows.
What you'll be doing
- Support the legal team in delivering strategic objectives for the Group by advising on a broad range of commercial, regulatory and corporate legal issues.
- Identify, monitor and escalate legal risks and the implementation of new regulatory developments.
- Commercial contracts: Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations and protecting the Group’s commercial position. Contribute to development of “house” precedents and process improvements, with opportunities to lead. Work closely with internal Procurement team.
- Corporate and M&A: Support the Group’s corporate activity, including business acquisitions and corporate transactions. Assist with legal due diligence and transaction support activities.
- Governance: Support the delivery of range of governance matters, alongside the Company Secretariat team. Assist with compliance and administrative tasks.
- Disputes: Assist in the management of contractual disputes.
- Work with external counsel on key projects.

What we're looking for
Essential
- Good understanding of general commercial and corporate legal principles and commercial contracts.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently, with support of senior lawyers in the team (depending on experience).
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management.
