This role will be based in Dubai - and you need to be immediately available, relocation support will be offered.

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support our Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) business. You will provide expert legal advice on MVNO-specific commercial arrangements, telecoms regulations, and data protection compliance, playing a critical role in shaping our commercial and regulatory strategy in a dynamic and competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the negotiation, drafting, and management of complex MVNO commercial contracts, including network access agreements, supplier contracts, reseller agreements, and customer terms.
  • Provide legal guidance on telecoms regulatory compliance specific to MVNO operations, including Ofcom regulations, spectrum access, and licensing.
  • Support the business in managing relationships with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and other key partners.
  • Advise on data protection and privacy compliance under GDPR and related telecoms-specific privacy requirements.
  • Manage legal risk related to product launches, service offerings, and commercial initiatives.
  • Assist with dispute resolution and coordinate with external counsel on litigation or regulatory investigations.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting MVNOs and advise the business proactively.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and cross-functional teams including Commercial, Finance, Technology, and Compliance.
  • Mentor junior legal team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes and policies within the MVNO business.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister with a UK practising certificate.
  • Minimum 7 years PQE with substantial experience in telecoms law, ideally with direct exposure to MVNO or MNO environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK telecoms regulatory frameworks, Ofcom requirements, and commercial telecoms contracting.
  • Proven expertise negotiating complex network and commercial agreements.
  • Strong understanding of data protection and privacy issues in telecoms.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to provide pragmatic legal advice aligned with business goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing or mentoring legal teams preferred.
