Join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer as a Legal Counsel, supporting the commercialisation of innovative medicines within the UK market.

Job Overview: This is an exciting opportunity for a junior commercial lawyer to work closely with business stakeholders, providing pragmatic legal advice while contributing to legal operations, process improvement initiatives, and training programmes. You'll gain broad exposure to commercial contracts and cross-functional collaboration within a highly regulated and fast-paced environment.

Contract Details

  • Location: London (minimum 2 days onsite per week preferred)
  • Contract Length: 6 months with potential extension
  • Rate: £560 per day (inside IR35)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercial legal advice and support to business stakeholders across the UK marketing organisation.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.
  • Partner with teams across Commercial Operations, Finance, Procurement and other business functions to support key initiatives.
  • Identify and manage legal risks while delivering practical, commercially focused solutions.
  • Support legal operations and process improvement projects to drive efficiency and consistency.
  • Review, update and develop legal templates, guidance documents and playbooks.
  • Create and deliver legal training and awareness sessions for business stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor with a current SRA Practising Certificate, or an overseas practising certificate supported by significant UK legal experience.
  • Approximately 2-5 years PQE with strong commercial contracts experience.
  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements.
  • Experience working within a life sciences environment; pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to review, improve and document legal processes.
  • Experience developing guidance materials and delivering training to stakeholders.
  • Legal operations, process improvement, medical devices, NHS, healthcare or scientific sector experience would be advantageous.
