W&P Partners Legal Recruitment is working with a leading international SaaS business to appoint a commercially focused UK Commercial Counsel to join its global Legal team.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced in-house lawyer to take ownership of commercial matters, lead strategic negotiations and work closely with senior stakeholders across a fast-paced technology business.

The Role

You will have responsibility for a broad range of commercial and strategic legal matters, including:

  • Acting as the primary lawyer for UK and US commercial matters
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex SaaS, customer, vendor and partnership agreements
  • Leading legal support on strategic commercial deals
  • Providing practical advice on contractual, commercial and compliance risks
  • Working cross-functionally with stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions and time zones
  • Supporting the resolution of commercial disputes through negotiation or mediation
  • Helping the business identify and manage legal risk while supporting continued growth

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales, or another common-law jurisdiction with eligibility to practise in the UK
  • At least five years of relevant commercial legal experience
  • Previous in-house experience within a technology or SaaS environment
  • Strong experience negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience within a fast-growth or start-up technology business would be particularly valuable
  • Confidence using AI and other digital collaboration tools
