What You'll Do

This is a unique opportunity to advise one of the world's leading consulting firms as it transforms into a technology- and AI-enabled business—working on cutting-edge client engagements, shaping innovative contracting approaches, and partnering with senior business and technology leaders across Europe.

As Legal Counsel – Commercial Contracting, you will be a trusted advisor for BCG's Central European operations with focus on Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and working independently on a wide variety of complex commercial matters.

You Will

  • Lead the drafting, negotiating, and execution of a broad range of commercial agreements—including master services agreements, software, cloud, SaaS, AI-related, licensing, subcontractor, and partnership agreements, as well as internal matters.
  • Take ownership of the legal support for BCG's growing portfolio of technology-enabled and AI-driven client engagements, partnering with case teams, clients, and cross-functional stakeholders—including Technology, Data Protection, IT Security, Compliance, and Risk Management—to develop and negotiate commercially pragmatic, innovative contracting solutions that support evolving delivery models and emerging technologies.
  • Advise on a broad spectrum of commercial as well as AI and digital technology-related legal matters—including intellectual property, licensing, confidentiality, competition law, compliance, governance, conflicts of interest, and the ownership and use of outputs generated by internal AI applications—while balancing legal risk with commercial objectives in client-facing negotiations.
  • Drive commercially sound contracting by applying BCG's risk management framework, continuously enhancing contracting standards, policies, and processes, and considering evolving legal and regulatory developments.
  • Act as a trusted legal advisor to business stakeholders across Central Europe with broader European exposure, providing pragmatic and solutions-oriented advice on commercial and transactional matters.
  • Collaborate across BCG's Global Legal Team and other corporate functions to resolve complex legal issues while contributing to knowledge sharing, contracting templates, and legal playbooks.
  • Leverage AI-enabled legal tools and contribute to the continuous evolution of technology-supported ways of working, legal innovation, and knowledge sharing across the Global Legal Team.

What You'll Bring

  • German qualified lawyer / "Volljurist" (First and Second Staatsexamen).
  • 5+ years of commercial contracting experience; meaningful international exposure a plus.
  • Strong law firm background considered; prior in-house experience a plus.
  • Native-level or business-fluent (written and spoken) German and English; additional European languages a plus.
  • Legal tech experience a plus.
