Legal Counsel (Permanent, Full Time)

We’re looking for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our Group Services team at KCOM.

This is a varied in-house role where you’ll provide practical legal advice across the business, helping KCOM manage legal and commercial risk while supporting our customers, suppliers, partners and wider transformation activity.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across our Consumer and Enterprise divisions, taking the lead on drafting and negotiating a range of commercial agreements and providing clear, pragmatic legal guidance.

Already working in-house? Great. Currently in private practice and considering your first move in-house? We’d love to hear from you too. This could be a great opportunity to bring your commercial legal experience into a business where you can work closely with stakeholders and see the impact of your advice first-hand.

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum depending on experience plus bonus

Location: Carr Lane, Hull. Office based Tuesdays and Wednesdays, hybrid working for the remainder of the week

Advert Closing Date: 19th October 2026

We may close the advert early if we receive strong interest, so don’t wait!

Interview Dates: To be confirmed after advert closing date

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across the business.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts with customers, suppliers and partners.
  • Identify and manage legal and commercial risk, providing pragmatic solutions that support business objectives.
  • Support tenders, contractual claims and other complex commercial matters.
  • Advise on legal, regulatory and data protection requirements, working with internal teams and external advisers where needed.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across KCOM, providing clear guidance and helping strengthen legal and contractual understanding.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
