Legal Counsel

Hey! Thanks for taking the time to read through one of our open roles. We're looking for an exceptional Legal Counsel to join our Legal team and we hope this could be a match made in heaven.

As Legal Counsel at Peppy, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our growth, leading on contract negotiations with mid-market and enterprise Fortune 500 clients, and advising teams right across the business. Reporting directly to our General Counsel, you will become a trusted advisor, helping us manage risk, move deals forward and build smarter legal processes as we scale.

Life as a Legal Counsel at Peppy

  • Report directly to our General Counsel and act as a trusted advisor to the business.
  • Working closely with the sales team and leading on the drafting and negotiation of any enterprise customer contracts where required.
  • Creating, updating and managing legal templates and supporting with queries relating to the company's online contracting platform.
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating supplier contracts and providing support on commercial ad hoc enquiries which come to the legal team.
  • Updating our end user terms and conditions and supporting on updates to our privacy policy and other relevant documentation.
  • Providing support to other teams within the business, such as the InfoSec team, Product Team, Clinical Operations Team etc. on new projects and business ventures, highlighting risks and escalating where required.
  • Leverage your expertise in privacy and regulatory compliance to advise our Product and Practitioner teams.
  • Assist our People team by providing advice on employment agreements and employment law issues.
  • Using AI tools to build and improve the legal team's processes, from contract review and template management to handling routine queries, so the team can work faster and focus on higher-value work.
  • Providing support to other members of the legal team.

Our dream Legal Counsel has:

  • Experience as a UK qualified solicitor having trained in-house or in a Legal 500 firm, with at least 3 years PQE.
  • Prior experience in a B2B SaaS business in-house role or in a private practice with a focus on commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Experience negotiating contracts with other large enterprise businesses' in-house legal teams or with experienced lawyers.
  • Demonstrable experience and interest in corporate, commercial and privacy law.
  • Tech-savvy individual comfortable with working with and learning new software tools.
  • Practical, hands-on experience using AI tools in your legal work, and enthusiasm for using them to design smarter, more efficient ways of working.
