Your role at Dynatrace

We are seeking to hire a Legal Counsel aligned to our Commercial Contracts team, operating as a key business partner to our Italy and UK Sales teams.

Working closely with our Sales and Operations teams, you will act as a strategic business partner, structuring, negotiating, and accelerating high-value enterprise SaaS agreements. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts—primarily for software licensing and related services—in collaboration with sales, services, finance, and other business units. This includes DPAs, NDAs, and partner agreements. Respond promptly to legal requests from internal teams across functional groups, effectively communicating legal concepts to business partners with the support of the broader legal team. Facilitate the continuous improvement of standard agreements, policies, and internal processes.

What Will Help You Succeed

• Strong practical experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts, including software licenses (SaaS and on-premises), professional services, reseller agreements, and vendor/supplier contracts.
• Understanding of intellectual property, licensing, SaaS, revenue recognition, privacy, and other legal matters that arise in commercial transactions.
• Strong commercial sensibilities with the ability to work closely and cooperatively with business partners, successfully navigating both commercial and legal terms.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with strong contract analysis, drafting, and negotiation capabilities.
• A proven track record of negotiating commercial contracts, preferably in an in-house role with a software or technology-oriented company.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a supportive legal team, maintaining a cooperative and inclusive mindset.
• Capable of providing prompt, concise, and practical guidance consistent with Dynatrace's business objectives, ensuring team needs are met.
• Ability to make clear, collaborative decisions in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment, with a strong aptitude for prioritizing multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.
• Strategic, adaptable, and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and cooperatively are highly valued.
• Proficiency or strong interest in Privacy or AI is considered a strong addition.
• Written and oral fluency in Italian.
