Role: Legal Counsel
Reports into: Senior Legal Advisor
Contract Type: Full Time, working 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week
Location: Hybrid, working 3 days a week in our offices based in Old Street, London

The Team
The small legal team is practical and focused on managing risk whilst staying mindful of the needs and aims of the business. We manage the legal process for the whole business, using external legal counsel and technology to support where necessary. With a proactive and flexible approach, we aim to enable rather than police the business.
About You
You will be a junior/mid level lawyer with a keen interest in the fitness sector. You will be confident but own your limitations. You will be able to work independently and be curious about the nuts and bolts of the business. You understand that context is key. You have a proactive and flexible approach and find solutions where you can.
You’ll Be Responsible For
- Overseeing agreements with talent, from negotiation support through to execution
- Reviewing and negotiating third party contracts across tech, events and facilities
- Managing company secretarial duties, including filings, records and governance administration
- Overseeing the IP portfolio in partnership with external counsel, ensuring it remains protected and up to date
- Building and embedding a process for identifying and responding to third party IP infringements, including recommending courses of action
- Supporting with customer complaints, providing pragmatic and timely resolutions
- Supporting web and product compliance, keeping the business on the right side of relevant regulations
- Leading the rollout of Juro as the business's contract management system, including building out templates, configuring workflows and upskilling the wider team to use it confidently

You’ll Need To Be
- A qualified solicitor with around 3 years' PQE (or equivalent experience), confident in your abilities but clear on when to escalate or seek support
- Comfortable advising on a broad range of commercial agreements, from straightforward supplier contracts to more complex negotiations
- Experienced in company secretarial matters, with an understanding of the governance and filing obligations that come with the role
- A strong drafter, able to turn complex legal language into clear, practical documentation
- Knowledgeable about intellectual property, with the ability to manage an IP portfolio and spot issues before they become problems
- Someone who takes ownership, proactive, solutions-focused and happy to get into the detail of how the business actually works
