Legal Counsel – Pharmaceutical
The Legal Counsel is responsible for providing legal support and advice to one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies' marketing teams. Reporting to the Legal Director, the role holder will provide a broad range of legal advice related to the commercialisation of medicines in the UK, working closely with business colleagues across the marketing company. The role holder will liaise with members of biopharmaceuticals and oncology business units including finance and procurement and commercial operations. The role holder will be involved in legal operations process improvements, updating templates and creating and rolling out training. The Legal Counsel will manage risk by applying commercial legal expertise, developing innovative solutions and identifying and implementing legal operations process improvements.

Essential Skills
This position is for a junior commercial lawyer.
- Experience drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements is essential.
- Legal Operations / process improvement experience highly desirable.
- Candidate should have worked in a life sciences environment. Pharma / biotech experience highly desirable but not essential. Experience in medical devices, supply logistics, NHS, or Science related business sector would be advantageous.
- Enthusiastic to learn about the pharma industry.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review and update processes and develop guidance / deliver training.
- Work will include contributing to legal process improvements, templates, and training materials where relevant.
- Likely 2 – 5 PQE.
- Should hold a current Solicitor’s Regulation Authority Practising Certificate, though a current overseas practising certificate plus considerable UK experience will be considered.

Contract Details
- This contract is initially for 6 months offering a day rate of £645 per day inside of IR35.
- The location is 2 days a week in London with the rest WFH.
