Employment Legal Counsel | 4+ PQE | Global High-Growth Business | London
We are working with a fast-growing international business within the technology and data space looking to appoint an Employment Legal Counsel to join its established global Legal team in London. This is a superb opportunity for an employment lawyer looking to move into a genuinely international in-house role, working at the heart of a dynamic and entrepreneurial business.
You will work closely with senior members of the Legal team alongside global HR, People and Recruitment teams, taking ownership of a broad range of employment matters across multiple jurisdictions.
With a high level of autonomy and direct exposure to senior stakeholders, you will be encouraged to take initiative, drive improvements and play an integral role in how employment legal matters are managed across the organisation.
The role will include:
- Advising the business on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including performance management, grievances, disciplinary matters, terminations and employment claims.
- Drafting, reviewing and maintaining employment contracts, policies, handbooks and other employment documentation across multiple jurisdictions.
- Partnering closely with HR, Recruitment and senior leadership on day-to-day employee matters and more complex employment issues.
- Advising on recruitment, hiring, compensation and benefits, performance reviews, performance improvement plans and worker/contractor classification.
- Supporting and advising on internal investigations, including conduct, conflicts of interest and potential breaches of internal policies.
- Advising on employment-related data privacy matters, including subject access requests.
- Supporting the business on international employment and immigration matters, working alongside external counsel where required.
- Identifying employment-related risk and developing practical policies, processes and procedures to manage that risk effectively.
- Managing relationships with external employment and immigration counsel internationally.
- Developing and delivering employment law training across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
