Role Overview
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment are delighted to be representing a world leading gaming and entertainment business in their search for a Legal Counsel. Reporting to and working in partnership with the Senior Legal Counsel, this position is responsible for supporting legal projects and the day to day legal requirements of the business.
Key Accountabilities
- Advising on and negotiating commercial contracts; assisting with applications for premises licences and other permissions; dealing with ad hoc enquiries from all departments.
- Providing timely legal advice and guidance in a commercial context on contracts, licence applications and stakeholder engagement as well as acquisitions where needed. Working closely with teams across the business, giving first class service.
- To ensure contracts are compliant and provide advice to and work in conjunction with the compliance team if and as required.
- Be familiar with relevant key legislation affecting the business and in particular the Gambling Act 2005. To keep up to pace with legal and regulatory developments in the industry.
- To keep up to date with legislation and any changes to legislation and implement accordingly.
- To work to support the operational, compliance and property teams on securing and maintaining new permissions to operate.

About You

- A UK qualified Solicitor with 3+ years of post-qualified experience
- Significant commercial legal experience, particularly the negotiation of a broad range of commercial contracts
- The ability to undertake a broad portfolio of legal work which might encompass IP, Data Protection, Regulatory, as well as ad-hoc legal queries from the business.
- Experience of working within a heavily regulated sector is highly desirable
- The ability to be an ambassador of the company brand, values and culture
