We have partnered with a leading Lloyd's London Market insurance business seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to join its London-based legal team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to move in-house or broaden their existing in-house experience, working across a diverse range of commercial, corporate and regulatory matters within a dynamic and growing organisation. The role offers significant stakeholder exposure and the chance to develop within a highly regarded business operating at the heart of the London insurance market.

The Role

Working as part of a collaborative legal team, you will provide pragmatic legal support across a broad range of business activities, including:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts
  • Advising on supplier, technology, outsourcing and service agreements
  • Supporting strategic business initiatives and projects
  • Providing day to day legal advice to stakeholders across the business
  • Assisting with corporate governance and regulatory matters
  • Supporting legal process improvements and risk management initiatives
  • Liaising with and managing external counsel where necessary

About You

  • England & Wales qualified solicitor
  • NQ to 3 years' PQE
  • Trained and developed within a reputable law firm or in-house legal team
  • Experience advising on commercial contracts and general commercial matters
  • Strong drafting, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercially minded with a pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Exposure to insurance, financial services or other regulated sectors would be advantageous, but is not essential
