Support the investment strategies that help millions of UK savers achieve better retirement outcomes
People's Partnership is seeking an experienced Investment Legal Counsel to join our growing Legal team. As our investment activities continue to expand across new asset classes, investment structures and strategic initiatives, we're looking for a legal specialist who can provide commercially focused investment and regulatory advice that enables innovation while ensuring robust governance and risk management. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile investment projects that will directly support our long-term growth ambitions and commitment to delivering strong outcomes for members.
The Opportunity
Demand for specialist investment legal expertise has increased significantly due to:
- Continued growth in assets under management and the increasing complexity of investment activity
- Delivery of People's Partnership's Mansion House commitments
- Development of various business propositions
- Appointment of new investment managers and mandates across asset classes, including fixed income
- New regulatory requirements including Consumer Duty and Targeted Support obligations

What You'll Be Doing
You will be the primary legal adviser supporting the investment function, providing practical and commercially focused advice that enables the business to meet its strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include:
- Advising the Investment team on legal and regulatory matters
- Supporting investment strategy implementation and new product development
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing investment management agreements and commercial contracts
- Advising on FCA regulations, governance frameworks and industry developments
- Supporting strategic transformation and growth initiatives
- Working closely with Compliance, Risk and senior leadership teams
- Managing relationships with external counsel and investment partners
What We're Looking For
You'll be a qualified lawyer with strong experience supporting investment, commercial or financial services organisations. You'll bring:
- Experience providing legal advice on investment and regulatory matters
- Strong understanding of financial services regulation and governance
- Excellent commercial judgement and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to balance legal risk with business opportunity
- Confidence working independently within a fast-paced and evolving environment
