An exciting role leading on the legal support for a growing private markets programme.
A major UK workplace pension provider is hiring a Legal Counsel to support its investment function as it increases its allocation to private markets. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will be the main legal adviser to the CIO and investment team. You will lead on private markets and alternatives, negotiate fund documentation with asset managers and sponsors, advise on investment governance, and manage external counsel.

Role Responsibilities
- Lead on private markets and alternatives
- Negotiate fund documentation with asset managers and sponsors
- Advise on investment governance
- Manage external counsel
- Own the investment legal agenda
- Work directly with senior leadership
- Help shape how private markets are accessed in a large defined contribution scheme
Qualifications
- Solicitor with significant PQE in funds, investment management, pensions or asset management, from private practice or in-house
- Strong private assets experience
- Good understanding of pension investment regulation
- Master Trust or trustee board experience would be useful
- Self-sufficient and comfortable advising senior stakeholders on your own
