Accuflex has a strong interim opportunity for a talented and motivated Banking / Credit Lawyer to join the UK private banking and wealth legal team of a major financial services institution.
This role will support the private banking credit business on a broad range of transactional credit facility and loan lifecycle work. The loan book is principally made up of property lending and securities-backed / lombard lending, with some more specialist financing arrangements.

The role
The work will include:
- Supporting credit facility transactions across a private banking loan book
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating loan and security documentation
- Advising on property loans, mortgage-backed lending and secured lending arrangements
- Supporting securities-backed / lombard lending matters
- Advising on loan lifecycle work, including amendments, variations, consents and ongoing facility management
- Working with a range of borrower and security provider types, including individuals, domestic and overseas corporate structures, charities and other wealth vehicles
- Supporting matters involving regulated mortgage contracts and consumer credit exemptions
- Advising internal stakeholders on legal risk, documentation issues and transaction process
- Assisting with policies, procedures and facility template documentation where required

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
