The Position

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our team in Burgess Hill. You’ll work across all areas of Roche Diagnostics with a specific focus on Digital, Data and Privacy to provide essential legal services and ensure compliance. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on improving health worldwide, based at our office in Burgess Hill, West Sussex.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal support including advice on a variety of commercial matters with a strong focus on digital products and solutions.
- Legal point of contact for the Roche Data, Digital and Privacy global network and Roche Information Solutions facilitating up/downstream information exchange and alignment.
- Draft, review, negotiate and finalise a wide range of contracts, policies, and other legal documents, with essential solid commercial contracts experience.
- Ensuring Roche’s digital vision aligns with all regulations and legislation.
- Keeping abreast of developments in the UK and EU, assessing their impact on our business, and advising on risks and opportunities.
- Handling Legal Monitoring and Know-how responsibilities.
- Representing the company in dealings with external entities where appropriate.
- Managing litigation and disputes related to the areas that you support.
- Lead and coordinate legal support for company-wide projects.
- Ensuring our operations are aligned with the highest legal and ethical standards.

Who you are
You are a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive registered in England and Wales, with experience in Digital, IT, and Privacy law ideally within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical devices industries.
- You are a technically excellent lawyer with a solid training foundation at a reputable organisation or law firm with a focus on doing business with ethics and integrity which will guide how you show up every day.
- You have solid experience and are well-versed in related laws and regulations including managing litigation.
- You are skilled at handling complex legal issues independently and providing pragmatic, actionable solutions.
- You are an effective communicator with excellent collaboration skills, capable of interacting meaningfully with and across internal and external stakeholders and systems and explaining complex legal issues in an easy to understand manner.
- You are a motivated individual who thrives on feedback and acts on it to improve performance.
