Legal Counsel (NQ) | London
A high-growth, international business operating in the energy and environmental markets is seeking a bright, commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor to build a broad legal career within a fast-paced and highly commercial organisation. You will work closely with senior stakeholders from day one, gaining exposure to a wide range of commercial, regulatory and corporate legal matters.
The role
Reporting into senior legal leadership, you will:
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including client, supplier, trading and service contracts
- Support the onboarding of new clients and counterparties
- Advise on legal and regulatory issues relevant to the business’s markets and operations
- Assist with corporate governance, company secretarial and general corporate matters
- Support compliance, risk and internal policy initiatives
- Manage external counsel where required
- Help develop practical, scalable legal processes as the business continues to grow

About you
You will be:
- A newly qualified solicitor (England & Wales), or due to qualify shortly
- Trained at a well-regarded law firm, with strong academics and excellent drafting skills
- Commercially astute, pragmatic and confident working directly with non-legal stakeholders
- Organised, proactive and comfortable managing competing priorities
- Interested in energy, commodities, financial services or environmental markets

Previous exposure to commercial contracts, regulatory work, financial services, commodities or energy-related matters would be beneficial, but is not essential.
