Job Title
Private investment firm based in Mayfair seeks a UK-qualified lawyer with relevant post-qualification experience, ideally at the 3–5 PQE level, to focus on private credit and structured debt transactions.
About the Role
The successful lawyer will have experience with structuring, negotiating and executing private credit transactions, including drafting and negotiating transaction documents and financing documentation. Candidates are likely to be working at a leading UK law firm or in a relevant in-house environment, such as an asset manager, credit fund or financial institution.
The role will work closely with the Investment and Structuring teams on term sheets and transaction documents, supporting or leading the execution of transactions for fund investments. We will be particularly interested to hear from deal lawyers currently working in private credit, leveraged finance or banking and finance, with experience negotiating and executing debt transactions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
