As Legal Counsel for Novartis in the UK, you will partner closely with commercial, medical, regulatory, and business teams to provide practical, risk-based legal guidance that enables innovation while protecting Novartis’ interests. This is an opportunity to influence high-impact business initiatives, navigate complex legal and compliance topics, and help shape how we deliver meaningful outcomes for patients across the UK.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal advice that supports business objectives while managing legal and compliance risks.
- Partner with commercial, medical, and market access teams on key business initiatives and decision-making.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and operational agreements.
- Advise on pharmaceutical regulations, healthcare professional interactions, transparency, and competition law.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks, providing pragmatic solutions to support sustainable business growth.
- Support governance processes, investigations, disputes, and engagement with external legal counsel.
- Develop and deliver legal training to strengthen compliance awareness across the organization.
- Drive continuous improvement through simplified legal processes and responsible use of legal technology.

Essential Requirements
- Law degree and qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales.
- Demonstrated post-qualification legal experience.
- Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
- Ability to provide pragmatic, business-focused legal guidance to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: 55.160 - 102.440 GBP
The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.
