Our client is an international bank in Zurich. We are searching for a Senior Tax Compliance Specialist (m, f, d) as

Legal Counsel Tax Compliance PE Funds (FATCA/AEOI)

Tasks

  • Cross-functional tax compliance advisory for legal entities in Europe, the U.S., and Asia for investment teams, operations, institutional client solutions, finance, tax, and including timely submissions of reporting
  • Acting as an expert in FATCA and AEOI tax compliance in the design, launch, and ongoing management of new and existing registered funds and other investment vehicles, in tax due diligence and structuring, and in providing risk-based support to the specialist teams
  • Review self-certificates at both entity and investor levels, ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Participating in product development of various investment structures across multiple jurisdictions
  • Review of tax returns made by external advisers, and the quality of tax reporting to investors
  • Support the annual tax compliance process
  • Provide support for regulatory filings (e.g., form W-8/W-9, 8-Ks, 10-Q/Ks, N-CSRs, or prospectus updates) and assisting with day-to-day oversight of legal matters
  • Support with day-to-day European tax matters relating to private-market funds, including assisting investment teams
  • Providing regulatory and legal advice to investment professionals and business personnel, including preparation of reports for the investment team and senior management
  • Monitoring of changes in international and domestic taxation rules and their impact on the private market business

Qualifications

  • Degree in Law or Business Law
  • LL.M. a plus
  • Legal experience in the fund industry with a top-tier law firm or Big4 tax consultancy
  • Familiar with fund structures, transactions, all-round knowledge of tax (FATCA/CRS) and different jurisdictions with funds domiciled in Luxembourg, Ireland, Delaware, Cayman Islands, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work with and organize a variety of documents
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Efficient working style
  • Skilled in building interpersonal relationships
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Willingness to perform in a challenging business environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
  • Interest in project work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Fluency in English
