Job Description

Are you passionate about sustainable energy and seeking an opportunity to build your expertise in commercial property law? We’re looking for an experienced legal counsel with experience in retail and commercial real estate to join our Allego team. This role offers hands-on opportunities and the chance to grow in a dynamic environment.

About The Job

As our legal counsel in the UK, you will be responsible for the legal needs in the UK and you will support Allego’s real estate needs by managing a variety of property transactions, helping to advance the company’s mission in sustainable energy. Working closely with stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered efficiently and on schedule, while contributing to a collaborative and forward-looking team.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate real estate agreements including leases, underleases, easements, licenses, variations, option agreements, and other transactional or legal documents;
  • Liaise with stakeholders such as landlords, local authorities, and DNOs/IDNOs to meet project timelines;
  • Oversee external legal teams on outsourced matters and manage related workflows;
  • Identify and mitigate potential financial and legal risks in property transactions;
  • Provide regular updates to internal teams and management on project progress;
  • Assist in developing and refining real estate templates, forms, and processes;
  • Perform detailed title investigations, draft Reports on Title, and resolve title-related issues; and
  • Support legal aspects of substation projects and related infrastructure.

Work with the central legal team on cross-border legal matters.

Job Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone with at least a UK Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LBB or equivalent) and with a qualification to practice in England & Wales and PQE of minimum of 3-4 years;
  • Knowledge regarding Scottish Property Law is a big plus;
  • Someone with experience in working in the UK, applying UK commercial property law;
  • A proactive and independent approach to managing workloads in a fast-paced environment;
  • A team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments and functions;
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a practical and results-driven focus;
  • Knowledge of relevant UK property laws and regulatory practices;
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement;
  • Experience in the EV charging; and
  • Prior experience in an in-house legal role is preferred but not essential.
