Why join us?

We are seeking a skilled and commercially minded Legal Director to join our Real Estate Litigation team.

This is a senior, client-facing role offering the opportunity to work on high-value, complex commercial property disputes, while playing a key part in the growth and strategic direction of the team.

The successful candidate will manage a complex and high-value caseload of commercial property disputes. This will include matters such as opposed and unopposed lease renewals, restrictive covenants, break options, dilapidations, rights of way, boundary disputes, trespass, nuisance, possession proceedings and insolvency-related issues.

The role will play a crucial part in the management and development of key client relationships across multiple sectors and will take responsibility for maintaining the quality of service delivered across the team.

The role is ideally suited to candidates based in one of our regional offices, including Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool or Birmingham with a flexible, hybrid working approach.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied and complex caseload of commercial property disputes, including opposed and unopposed lease renewals, restrictive covenants, break options, dilapidations, rights of way, boundary disputes, trespass, nuisance, possession proceedings and insolvency-related issues.
  • Support the Real Estate Litigation team in driving continuous growth and improvement, contributing to the ongoing development of the practice and the delivery of an excellent and consistent client service.
  • Work closely with clients to provide practical, clear and robust legal advice, ensuring that commercial objectives are met and matters are progressed efficiently and strategically.
  • Supervise and mentor junior members of the team, supporting their development and contributing to the overall quality, performance and culture of the practice.
  • Build, maintain and develop strong relationships with key clients, while supporting further growth through both new and existing business opportunities.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including the transactional Real Estate team, with whom there will be close collaboration and ongoing support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
