Legal Disrepair Surveyor (Contract)

Remote | North, West & South London

£500 per day | Minimum 6-Month Contract

Join one of the UK's leading building pathology specialists.

JAG is a specialist surveying consultancy focused on building pathology, legal disrepair, damp, mould and condensation. We work with housing associations, local authorities, solicitors and private clients, delivering high-quality expert reports that help resolve complex property disputes.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for experienced Legal Disrepair Surveyors to join our expanding network of surveyors on an initial minimum six-month contract, with the potential for extension based on workload and performance.

This role offers excellent earning potential, flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to work with one of the UK's fastest-growing specialist surveying consultancies.

The Role

Working remotely, you will undertake Legal Disrepair inspections across North, West and South London, carrying out a minimum of two surveys per day.

You will be responsible for identifying property defects, diagnosing root causes and producing detailed, evidence-based reports that support legal disrepair claims and help housing providers meet their statutory repair obligations.

The role is available on both a full-time and part-time basis, providing flexibility to suit experienced surveyors looking for contract opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Legal Disrepair surveys across North, West and South London.
  • Inspect residential properties for defects including damp, mould, condensation, water ingress, structural defects and general building disrepair.
  • Diagnose the root causes of defects using sound building pathology principles.
  • Produce clear, accurate and evidence-based survey reports.
  • Prepare schedules of work and recommendations where required.
  • Capture comprehensive photographic evidence during every inspection.
  • Liaise professionally with residents, housing providers and client representatives.
  • Manage your own diary and workload to ensure efficient delivery of surveys.
  • Represent JAG professionally and maintain our high standards of technical excellence and customer service.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
