Legal Enforcement Team Leader
We are looking for an experienced housing professional with strong knowledge of tenancy management, housing law and enforcement to lead our high-performing team of Legal Enforcement Officers. The team represents Orbit in legal and court proceedings relating to tenancy breaches, income recovery and other complex enforcement matters.
Based across the Midlands, they need a confident and effective people manager who can provide clear leadership and apply sound enforcement expertise to achieve fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes.
The team work in a hybrid manner, so this will involve a mix of court, office and home-based working. This role will oversee colleagues based in the Midlands. With some flexibility to work up to 8pm and Saturdays till 1pm to deliver effective case management.

You will guide the team to deliver fair, legal and ethical outcomes that protect communities, sustain tenancies and reflect our core values. Ensuring our customers feel safe and heard during court proceedings and colleagues are challenged and valued in development.

What you'll bring
Essential skills
- Significant experience in housing law, court representation and tenancy enforcement (including income recovery and ASB cases).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to support, challenge and inspire team performance and development.
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal - with the ability to explain legal processes to varied audiences.
- Experience of managing complex or sensitive cases with a trauma-informed and solution-focused approach.
- Proven ability to analyse performance data, identify themes, and implement service improvements.
- Confident in working with external stakeholders including courts, legal professionals, and support services.
- Working knowledge of benefit systems, Universal Credit, and welfare reform.
- Comfortable working in a flexible environment including early/late shifts and travel where needed.
- Ability to maintain clear documentation and compliance records, ensuring case law, protocol and regulation are followed.
- Undertake OOH duties as and when required.
Desirable skills
- Previous line management experience in a legal or housing enforcement environment.
- Formal housing or legal qualification or accreditation.
- Familiarity with digital casework systems and data platforms.
- Experience supporting multi-tenure legal enforcement activity.
