Salary: Starting Salary is £29,542 (Level one) rising to £32,046 (Level four) per annum (pro rata for part-time)

About the Role

The Legal Services Conveyancing Team is recruiting for a Legal Assistant to join its busy team. The role will involve conducting routine conveyancing and property related transactions including advising upon preparing and completing all necessary documentation. The work will include disposals, lettings and a variety of property related legal advice.

The successful candidate will be dealing with a range of routine in-house conveyancing and property related transactions and legal advice to various departments within the Council. You will be dealing with a range of property transactions on behalf of various Council departments which include Right to Buy disposals, auctions sales and other disposals, purchases, granting of leases, lease management transactions, licences, easements, supporting the Council’s asset rationalisation, regeneration projects and other property related advice.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Some experience of handling routine property legal work
  • Experience of dealing with the preparation and completion of conveyancing and other property related documentation
  • Experience of planning and organising own workload and be able to work flexibly in a pressured environment
  • Ability to work largely independently on a large volume of routine conveyancing matters
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing and to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team
