Legal Indemnity Underwriter

Barker Munro Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Legal Indemnity Underwriter to join a specialist insurance business offering flexible remote or hybrid working.
You'll be responsible for underwriting residential and commercial legal indemnity risks, as well as estate administration insurance, making sound underwriting decisions within delegated authority and delivering excellent service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite legal indemnity and estate administration insurance risks.
- Assess and analyse risk, preparing clear underwriting notes and recommendations.
- Calculate and negotiate competitive premiums.
- Approve cases within delegated authority limits.
- Meet service standards and underwriting KPIs.
- Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Contribute to product development and underwriting process improvements.

About You
- Minimum 4 years' legal indemnity underwriting experience; or
- Experience within a specialist broker environment; or
- Conveyancing or private client legal background looking to move into underwriting.
- Strong knowledge of defective title and/or probate/estate administration insurance.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proactive, collaborative, and customer-focused approach.
