Underwriter Opportunity in Legal Indemnity Insurance
A well-established specialist in legal indemnity insurance is looking for an Underwriter to join its underwriting team. Reporting into the Director of Underwriting, you'll underwrite residential, commercial and development risks for solicitors, licensed conveyancers and brokers.
Responsibilities
- Take each enquiry from first query to quotation and then to policy.
- Assess each risk against the guidelines agreed with the insurer and set premiums that are fair to the client and profitable for the business.
- Work within your own delegated authority and make sure cover notes and policies go out accurately and on time.
- Support the bespoke underwriting team on more complex cases.

Requirements
- Fast, clear and professional service is central to the role.
- Build relationships that bring in more business.
- Keep up to date with property law, conveyancing practice and insurance regulation.
- Follow delegated authority requirements, Contract Certainty, Treating Customers Fairly and the FCA Conduct Rules.
Ideal Candidate
The role would suit someone with legal indemnity, title insurance or conveyancing experience who wants to grow in a specialist, client-facing underwriting position. Our client will consider candidates with Property/Commercial Underwriting experience.
