Central London, hybrid working. 3 days/week on an initial 3-month day rate contract commencing from January.
About the Role
This is a genuinely hands-on role. They are looking for someone who can not only identify where AI and automation can improve legal processes, but who is comfortable building and implementing the solutions themselves.
Working closely with the General Counsel, you’ll help redesign how Legal operates and how the wider business engages with the function, with AI and automation at the heart of the programme.
Initial Projects
- Designing and building AI-enabled legal workflows and agents
- Automating areas including contract review, vendor risk, compliance approvals, and legal intake
- Mapping and redesigning existing legal processes before automating them
- Creating a more effective legal intake and triage model
- Turning playbooks, policies, and legal know-how into structured rules and templates for AI-supported workflows
- Developing test cases and evaluating the quality and accuracy of AI outputs
- Establishing metrics around turnaround times, volumes, and time saved

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Practical experience implementing AI and/or automation within a legal function, ideally within a technology or SaaS environment, is essential. Experience with tools such as Jira, Ironclad, and SharePoint would be highly relevant.
This would suit someone who is commercial, pragmatic, and happy rolling their sleeves up, rather than operating purely at strategy level. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment.
