Legal Secretary PA & Administrator
Location: East London - Central Line
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 plus perks and benefits dependant on experience
Overview
Our law firm client has an excellent reputation for efficiency and customer service. Their reputation has continued for over 20 years, and they continue to win new clients through recommendations and successful case wins.
Due to a busy business workload, they now need an efficient hands-on Legal Secretary to support 1 fee-earning busy Partner. The main focus will be in the property and conveyancing team, so previous knowledge in this field is preferred. This is a PA/EA role to support all areas of admin and legal documentation filing and typing. This is office-based 5 days a week.
Duties
- Act as a support function to the qualified lawyers on a day-to-day basis
- Excellent AUDIO typing and skills from dictations from busy Lawyers
- In-depth knowledge of Word and preparation of legal letters and relevant documents
- Preparing complex legal bundles and multiple files for court hearings
- Administer processes and procedures according to the company handbook
- Support the busy billing solicitors and paralegals in their daily office needs
- Manage the complex filing systems and upgrade where needed
- Assisting lawyers with legal file management tasks
- Building strong relationships with senior fee-earners
- File management assistance - helping to manage physical and electronic files
- Printing/Photocopying/Scanning
- Filing correspondence and emails
- Preparing engrossments
- Opening and closing files
- Assisting with managing ledger balances
- Basic invoicing and credit control
- Taking calls and transferring
- Office stationery requirements
- Dealing with the daily post in and out

Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant legal secretarial experience, ideally more
- Able to work on your own without ongoing help
- Understand legal jargon and requirements for document management
- Able to work from East London near a Central Line underground station
- 5 days a week office-based
