Executive Assistant – International Law Firm
London | £53,000–£55,000 | Permanent | 4 days office / 1 day home
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Executive Assistant to join a leading international law firm, supporting a high-profile Partner who is also a member of the firm's Executive Committee.
Sitting within one of the firm's fast-paced and high-profile teams, the EA will primarily support one extremely busy Partner alongside several Associates.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced EA who enjoys taking ownership of their role, working autonomously and building a close working relationship with a senior Partner.
The Role
The Partner has a particularly busy practice with a significant volume of billing, expenses, and matter openings. While dedicated billing, revenue, and matter-opening teams provide support, the EA will be expected to take ownership and manage the processes proactively.
Responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of complex Partner billing
- Generating and sending invoices and tracking payments
- Monitoring the billing process using 3E
- Preparing billing narratives and draft cost details
- Maintaining client-specific rates and billing requirements
- Liaising with clients and external counsel regarding invoices and billing queries
- Diary and meeting management
- Processing a high volume of expenses
- Coordinating some travel arrangements
- Opening new clients and matters, including KYC and AML processes
- Preparing papers ahead of meetings
- Monitoring and actioning emails as required
- Working closely with Associates and wider business support teams
- Providing proactive day-to-day EA support

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
